Meeting the growing demand for flexibility, reliability and performance in multimedia high-density storage, TDK offers a complete line of rewritable magneto-optical disks. The M-O line includes the 3.5-inch MO-R230 (230 MB capacity) and the 3.5-inch MO-R128 (128 MB capacity), both available in Macintosh formatted and unformatted versions. In addition, TDK has recently added to its line the MO-3R540 (540 MB) and MO-3R640 (640 MB) for use in the new ISO/IEC standard disk deives. Two 5.25-inch disks, the MO-R650 (650 MB capacity) and the 1.3 GB MO-R1300 are available in unformatted versions only.
TDK's magneto-optical disks incorporate
the most advanced technology and materials. Each disk is capable of an
astounding 100 million continuous read cycles and over ten million erase/rewrite
cycles. A combination of low signal jitter and a wide power margin afford TDK
MO disks an extremely high level of compatibility with disk drives at speeds
ranging from 1,800 rpm to 3,600 rpm. Because TDK MO disks are based on the ISO
standard format, they are fully compatible with all currently available MO disk
drives.
To ensure maximum durability, TDK MO disks feature a hub design utilizing a special in-plastic composite material and advanced bonding technique. The result is unprecedented durability in loading/unloading operations -- up to 100,000 times. An advanced assembling and coating process also ensure that TDK MO disks remain dust and contaminant-free throughout their long life spans. TDK magneto-optical disks have been tested under a variety of temperature conditions and have an archival data life span in excess of 30 years.
